Sunflower Equity is a concept that was created in early 2005. The real estate boom and bust occurring across the United States gave rise to a unique opportunity for investors. Generally speaking housing prices and affordability are tethered by interest rates (the price of money) and personal incomes. In the fall of 2007 the cycle changed. Home prices tumbled drastically but this time the price of money wasn't the cause, speculation and credit policy were to blame. This created excess inventory and deflation of home prices. Sunflower Equity was then able to find properties for as much as 50% below value.
